New Nuendo 5.5 activation codes will be added.

The only difference with the newer version is that it does not install the previous version, but rather allows you to activate it (for example using the WinUAE emulators).
So if you have a license, it will automatically activate when you run the installer again. If you don't have a license, it'll tell you.
Nuendo 5.5 only supports Windows, so you'll need to manually upgrade.
I would suggest:
Watch a video that shows the differences between version 5.5 and 5.6. They are not that big and the upgrade is pretty straight forward.
Install the older version (version 5.4) again. You'll only need a few minutes of installing.
Install the newer version (version 5.5) again.
